As you would expect, the music in certain areas of Super Mario 64 was different in early stages.
This song was heavily modified, it has a more fast-paced feel to it and a very different drum and bass line. Several voice samples were hardcoded to go alongside the music.
The only difference here is that the music is faster by about 2 BPM, this is a common theme with music change.
Used by Rocky Mountain, Snow Slide, along with the slide itself later used in Tall, Tall Mountain, the main theme has a higher tempo which is about 118 BPM and uses different percussion instruments.
The tune in Water Land now known as “Dire, Dire Docks” has a few notable changes, such as the instrument used for the Electric Piano being different, notes being slightly longer and few notes in the middle of the song that have been altered. The tempo here is also 2 BPM faster.
The only difference here is that the music is again about 2 BPM faster.
